First-of-its kind senior community in Victoria, Minn. offers joyous and inclusive living with state-of-the-art villas and apartments
Bethesda celebrated the historic opening
of its first Cornerstone Village community, Bethesda Cornerstone Village in
Victoria, Minnesota, with two events at the Victoria property on September 24,
What makes Bethesda Cornerstone Village Victoria truly special is that it’s the first of
its kind: a faith-based, adult housing community offering “joyous living” with high-quality,
accessible homes for adults 55+ and independent adults with intellectual
and developmental disabilities. The goal of the new development is to encourage
inclusion and independent living, and foster meaningful connections among

The community, located at 1519 82nd St.,
Victoria, Minn., welcomed notable local, regional and national guests at its
invitation-only in-person events at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. CT on Thursday,
September 24, 2020, and live-streamed the events to the public at BethesdaCornerstoneVillage.org/celebrate.
The events included a ribbon
cutting, the placement of a cornerstone near the community’s main entrance, and
the burial of a time capsule. Notable speakers at the event included: Jonathan
Weinhagen, president, Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce; Troy Hudson, chaplain,
Minnesota Timberwolves; Mike Thirtle, president and CEO, Bethesda; and Tom
Campbell, vice president of real estate, Bethesda.
Bethesda Cornerstone Village Victoria consists of a total of 52 well-appointed homes: 37 apartment homes and 15 villa homes. Up to twenty percent of the residences will serve people with a developmental disability who live independently. All homes feature smart-home technology empowering independent living and offering peace of mind. The homes’ design accommodates needs as residents age, offering accessibility with features including walk-in showers, pocket doors and wide doorways to easily accommodate walkers and wheelchairs.
Bethesda Cornerstone Village Victoria residences
are nicely appointed, with features including granite countertops, stainless
steel appliances, in-unit laundry, soundproofing and patios or balconies. Villas
have attached one- or two-car garages and the apartment homes’ building features
an underground parking garage for easy access in any weather.
