People with intellectual and developmental disabilities—and
essential workers who support them—need your voice now more than ever.
Recent spikes in COVID-19 cases have spurred legislators to consider the next Coronavirus aid package with a goal of having approved legislation in place by early August. We must ensure that the disability community receives vital support from this aid package. You can help!
Go to the Bethesda
Action Center to tell Congress to
Support People with Disabilities and The Heroes Who Care for Them
With just a click of your mouse, you can help keep the needs of people with disabilities and the
professionals supporting them front-of-mind as Congress negotiates its next
round of COVID-19 relief legislation.
It is critical for Medicaid-funded
home- and community-based service providers to secure increased COVID-19
funding from Congress to purchase safety supplies, strengthen wages for Direct
Support Professionals (DSP), and otherwise keep people with intellectual and
developmental disabilities and DSPs healthy and safe during the pandemic.
In less than one minute of
your time, you can petition your representatives in Washington, D.C. at Bethesda’s Action Center. This week
(July 13-17, 2020) is critically important to help ensure the people you love
have the resources required for sustainable quality care.
If we do not speak up for people with developmental disabilities,
and the healthcare heroes who care for them, who will?
Please share the link to Bethesda’s Action
Center with your friends and family, and thank you for advocating for people
with disabilities and the heroes who care for them. Together we can make a difference.
