Golden Buzzer winner Kodi Lee inspires people with disabilities
In May, the world stood in awe as Kodi Lee, a gifted musician who is blind and autistic, took center stage to audition on the season 14 premier of America’s Got Talent.
What happened next inspired and delighted audiences, especially the intellectual and developmental disability community. Kodi not only performed, he blew the judges away with his extraordinary musicianship and incredible voice. His performance was so impressive, judge Gabrielle Union awarded Kodi the “Golden Buzzer,” an achievement that catapulted him all the way through the audition phase of the show to the upcoming live semi-finals in August. It’s worth noting that each judge on America’s Got Talent can only give one Golden Buzzer each season.
Check out his incredible performance.
As Kodi approaches the semi-finals, Bethesda is behind him every step of the way. In fact, people supported by Bethesda have come forward to share their own musical talents and send Kodi messages of inspiration. For example, Ross in Colorado, who plays guitar and sings, offered a performance and Joanna in Southern California played a song on the piano in Kodi’s honor. You can see the messages of support for yourself in the videos below.
Good luck, Kodi. We’re all rooting for you!
